| Cargo handled
Over the years, Quebec Stevedoring Company Ltd has developed unique expertise in oversized cargoes called “special projects,” in particular wind turbines.
In addition, we are renowned for the excellence and ingenuity with which we handle and store dry bulk, steel, forest products and general cargo. Our expertise thereby contributes to increasing Canadian and American imports and exports.
The main products handled are:
Dry bulk

At the St. Lawrence Stevedoring terminal in Quebec, we have truly impressive means of loading and unloading dry bulk cargo. All means combined, our production rate can reach over 100,000 tonnes a day, depending on the equipment used and type of product handled. Boasting a 15.5-m water depth alongside the berth, we can accommodate vessels with a deadweight capacity of 150,000 tonnes. Furthermore, the versatility of our highly mechanized equipment makes it possible to transfer cargoes from one ship to another in merely a few hours.

Steel
Our terminals in Bécancour, Chicago, Hamilton, Oshawa and Sorel-Tracy specialize in handling steel products. Our highly qualified personnel are as tough as the products they handle, just as the wide array of equipment and facilities are built to stay the course.
General cargo

Every port in our network has the facilities and expertise necessary to receive, handle and store all types of general cargo. As a result, we are able to efficiently and effectively meet customer needs. It is also why we have become the leader in our field.
