Network Map

Each year, QSL and its subsidiaries invest substantial amounts in warehouses, new constructions, additional equipment, research and development.

Here are a few examples of investments throughout the years:

 

2009

  • Acquisition of a new conveyor system that doubles handling capacity of St. Lawrence Stevedoring (SLS) Terminal.
  • Expansion of QSL terminal network: Port Colborne and Port Weller in Ontario.

 

2008

  • Doubling wharf space in Sorel-Tracy.

 

2007

  • Addition to the equipment fleet: new pay loaders and reach stackers.

 

2006

  • Expansion of QSL terminal network: Iroquois Landing Terminal in Chicago.
  • Acquisition of three high-performance mobile conveyors that can be easily moved from a terminal to another.

 

2005

  • Addition of two gantry cranes at the St. Lawrence Stevedoring (SLS) Terminal, fifteen new grapples and four loaders. Building of a 150,000-square-foot warehouse to meet the needs of Inco. As a result, SLS becomes one of the leading terminals in North America for handling nickel concentrate.
  • The Port of Matane more than doubles its inside storage space after expanding the dockside warehouse by some 30,000 square feet.

 

2001

  • Building an alumina storage dome for Alcan at the Port of Québec.

Equipment

We boast a wide assortment of mechanical equipment: gantry and mobile cranes, loaders, lift trucks, conveyors, tractors, lifting devices, grabs, buckets, etc. We constantly renew this equipment to stay at the cutting edge of the industry and increase our productivity. Our mechanical workshops are strategically located in our network of port facilities so we can promptly and efficiently maintain this equipment.

A new conveyor system has been installed at St.  Lawrence Stevedoring that will double handling capacity.
