Sorel-Tracy

The Sorel-Tracy Maritime terminal is located at the mouth of the Richelieu River just 44 mi (70 km) east of Montreal. It is open year-round and specializes in handling bulk cargo, general cargo and steel. The water depth reaches 36 ft (11 m); all ships navigating the St. Lawrence River can therefore dock there. An inventory management system makes it possible to know the quantity of goods stored inside and outside in real time. The terminal benefits from a team of workers and specialized equipment including mobile cranes to speed up truck loading times. The facilities are served by two CN rail lines in addition to providing direct access to major North American highways.
