QSL and its subsidiary Transport Watson recently completed a large-scale operation at the Port of Gros-Cacouna, as part of the Pohénégamook–Picard–Saint-Antonin–Wolastokuk (PPAW) wind farm project.
Our mission: to handle the port unloading and specialized transport of 30 wind turbine powertrains, each weighing 95 tonnes. Thanks to our integrated service model – combining port handling, logistics, and oversized transport – we delivered a turnkey solution that was seamless, secure, and efficient.
This operation also marked the first use of our brand-new Faymonville Highwaymax 2 trailer – a strategic addition to the Transport Watson fleet. Designed for modular transport of oversized loads, this extendable, steerable trailer offers exceptional capacity and maneuverability, making it ideal for transporting wind turbine components, transformers, turbines, and other heavy industrial equipment.
“With this state-of-the-art equipment, we are further expanding our ability to meet the complex needs of our energy-sector clients across North America.”
– Émeric Doutriaux, General Manager, Transport Watson
The PPAW project is a great example of QSL’s role in supporting the growth of renewable energy in Canada. By combining our port and land-based expertise, we offer turnkey solutions tailored to large-scale sustainable infrastructure projects.
