Present at the Port of Bécancour since the 1980s, QSL is SPIPB’s main partner and plays a structuring role in the development of this intermodal logistics hub of major importance to Québec.
The Bécancour terminal holds a strategic position within QSL’s network, ranking among its five most important sites. It stands out for its bulk cargo volumes and container stuffing operations serving Northern communities, as well as for its role in supplying mining operations.
Its intermodal capabilities and strategic location make it a key asset in supporting complex industrial projects, including those related to wind energy, while delivering integrated logistics solutions. During peak season, up to 250 workers are mobilized on site, illustrating the terminal’s local economic impact.
This shared success was recently highlighted on VIA 90.5, when Robert Bellisle, President and CEO of QSL, was a guest on the program Le Parc en 30 minutes alongside Marc Rochette and Donald Olivier, President and CEO of SPIPB.
The discussion underscored the strength of the relationship between the two organizations and the terminal’s structuring role in regional economic development.
The Horizon Bécancour modernization project reflects this momentum and the port’s commitment to developing infrastructure adapted to future needs. In time, it will support activity growth, the evolution of supply chains, and the diversification of Canadian and Québec markets.
QSL continues this close collaboration with SPIPB to contribute to growth that is sustainable, responsible, and beneficial for the broader community. Bécancour is a concrete example of the strength of a partnership built on trust, complementarity, and a shared vision for the future.
