A sustainable and safe logistics network, from one gulf to the other.

QSL continues to expand the scope of its ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications covering its environmental, health and safety management system. With the integration of the Houston, Montréal and Belledune sites, QSL now has 12 sites covered by this certification across its North American network.

This expansion consolidates a sustainable and safe logistics network from one gulf to the other, connecting the Gulf of St. Lawrence to the Gulf of Mexico through strategic logistics corridors, under a shared governance framework aligned with international standards.

Strategic gateways for North American trade

The Gulf of St. Lawrence – providing access to the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes – and the Gulf of Mexico are two of the four main gateways for international trade in North America, linking the continent to major global import and export flows.

With the integration of Belledune and Houston into the scope of its certification, QSL strengthens the alignment and consistency of practices across these two major gateways within its integrated network.

Montréal, along the St. Lawrence–Great Lakes axis and complementing Québec, plays a structuring role as a terminal, ensuring connectivity between maritime gateways and rail and road networks serving inland markets.

By expanding the certification scope to these key sites, QSL reinforces:

  • the harmonization of environmental and OHS practices
  • risk management across the entire logistics chain
  • the reliability and predictability of operations for its clients
  • operational consistency throughout the network

Rigorous governance in support of network reliability

Beyond compliance, the expansion of the certification scope reflects strong and structured governance, enabling the consistent deployment of high standards across sites with diverse operational realities.
This rigor strengthens QSL’s ability to deliver reliable, safe and responsible logistics solutions, while ensuring smooth operations along strategic logistics corridors, from one gulf to the other.

IMPERIUM: the central pillar of our approach

This initiative is part of IMPERIUM, QSL’s structuring program aimed at:

  • implementing a harmonized environmental, health and safety management system, compliant with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
  • the future integration of ISO 9001 requirements
  • alignment with QSL’s commitments to the Green Marine program and the United Nations Global Compact

Each site added to the certification scope strengthens the overall network, becoming a solid link in a coherent, responsible and safe North American logistics chain.

Local teams driving collective progress

The expansion of the certification scope relies first and foremost on the commitment of our local teams – the women and men who ensure the continuity and efficiency of operational activities across each of our sites. Their rigor, collaboration and adoption of best practices enable the successful integration of these three new sites.

A collective achievement that illustrates QSL’s ability to bring its vision and values to life with the same strength and consistency – from one gulf to the other.
