We are pleased to announce that POSHA, a new QSL Company, will manage the Port of Sheet Harbour in Nova Scotia.
This addition to QSL’s group of companies comprised of more than 2,000 employees and activities in over 60 terminals will increase our geographic and socioeconomic footprint in Atlantic Canada and support our vision: to become the North American leader in the industry.
QSL has signed a 10-year lease agreement with Nova Scotia Business Inc., owner of the port facility. Through POSHA, it will manage the capital infrastructure, land leases, collect port fees, land use fees and tariffs. It will also oversee security and community relations. The agreement has an option to renew for a further 10 years if both parties agree.
Situated in the Eastern Area of Halifax Regional Municipality, the port is well suited for marine and resource-based industry, manufacturing and being an intermediate port for ships on their way to another destination. Companies have already established processing and shipping facilities at the port as a competitive alternative to other locations.
